    You say that but a lot of standard dual motor EV’s are coming out with this type of performance and the scheme is going to be very short on choice of EV’s if this trend continues and they base decisions on insurance alone because the cost of these vehicles are beginning to reduce. For example the new Volvo EX-30 is highly likely to come onto the scheme based on the information I’ve seen and the twin motor version of even the basic specification does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds!

    But, for me, an EV is far more than just acceleration so my advice to anyone thinking about purchasing an EV – or any car for that matter – is to think about the whole-round package.
