From what I hear from installers of hoists and other disabled adaptions is The Grants team has changed the whole management of the Scheme and the head is Chief Executive for the charity Blesma, the Limbless Veterans. He has led military engineers, UK and other nations, at all levels up to brigade on five continents, including six years in the Royal Marines Brigade. Name Barry DE Mays and I got a letter signed by him and to be honest a very ruthless man a complete A hole. I myself would never even contact them again without an Apology I have a legal case for breach of equality act with them and Mo For treatment I received I am awaiting the outcome.
At least give him the common courtesy of getting his name correct.
His name is actually Barry Le Grys MBE, not Barry DE Mays!
Having served with him and under him in the Armed Forces, I can assure you he is most certainly not, to quote yourself, ‘a very ruthless man a complete A hole’, but a fine and upstanding former senior officer and an outstanding engineer.
As a limbless veteran, I met him again through Blesma, where I again found him to be most courteous, considerate and approachable. I will be forever grateful for the assistance I received from Blesma (and I nowadays return the assistance by assisting other limbless veterans).
Clearly you do not know the man.
Whilst you may have some form of disagreement with Motability (charity), it is certainly bad form to publicly comment on the integrity of an individual of whom you have no or scant knowledge.
Dave.
