    BYD’s Blade batteryis one such battery in use today and CATL new battery will be based on the same chemistry Liyhium Iron Phosphate (LFP) basically a LifePo4 battery.

    BYD’s Blade battery was putthrough rigerous tests, Nail Penetration, Heated to 572 F, Overcharged by 260%, Crushed Bent. Nottest resulted in fire or explosion.

    My son works for Bentley Crewe as line manager, was trained as an Auto Electrician in particular with EV batteries some years ago know after leaving Audi who he had an apprenticeship after leaving school, working his way up to the ladder.  (Bently & VW group use same diagnostic software) so he fitted in at Bentley nicely.

    I think the main issue is accessing Batteries built into the floor and re-sealing them to standards is a big issue for insurers.
