The issue is wider than the motability scheme. You can get a car quicker if you’re flexible about the specification. Build to order car deliveries can be horrendous at the moment.
I went into our local Ford dealer today, I wanted a Ford Puma, I wasn’t too bothered about the specification beyond it being an automatic.
They had a Ford Puma 155 DCT available in the highest specification. I placed the order and car will be available to collect next Tuesday (11/7).
