MFillungton, re Teslas, yes, the insurance is higher, due to people buying them and pranging them in the first few weeks, but my understanding is the Motability insurance is a group insurance, not individual cars/drivers. re the service centres poor, Tesla actually-y send engineers out to your home/work to carry out servicing/minor repairs. Mist other manufacturers are reducing their service centres as they go towards the Agency framework

I wasn’t aware they send the mechanics out, thank for that information.  The nearest centre to deepest, darkest Cornwall is Bristol, for most of us that’s a trek, it’d be a nightmare if we had to get broken cars there.

I’m hoping we’ll see some better spec’d vehicles come on to the scheme rather than all these basic models we seem to be getting lumbered with at high AP’s.

I agree, there’s a lot of base spec cars for near 8 grand.  However, if the 8 grand mark is their ceiling for APs, then there’s either going to have to be some epic negotiation happening or prices will have to stabilise for a predicted end of term value to raise significantly.

An example I’d like to use (and see happen) would be the Enyaq.  Originally on for an eye watering 7 grand drops to £5,500 then becomes £3,999-£5249 or thereabouts.  That leaves space for the Sportline Plus to join at much nearer 7-8 grand or for Motability to provide for a base 60 or 80 with a pack added (which would cost £2755) for less than £2,755 more.

The example that’s happened is the Ariya, originally just the 63kwh Advance model (since the packs were removed and prices dropped from £9000+) now you can get the Advance in both 63 and 87kWh versions and the Evolve in 63kWh.  That allows for the choice between extended range or better equipment, something that seems a reasonable set of choices.
