Hmm, well,, you reduce your choices of ability to see all chargers and if they are being used, plus many swear by apps such as A better route planner, Zap Map and also quite a few supplier specific apps such as BP Pukse, IONITY etc. with android auto/apple car play,these can be used on your infotainment screen.
However, the majority of cars also have built into their sat nav showing where the chargers in your route are and when you put in your destination, they work out if you need to charge and offer various charge points to make that charge.
For local chargers, use zap map on your computer to find your local chargers.
