I see the “no one will pay these lease prices and ridiculous AP” comments are out again.
to be clear, PIP us not means tested and many on PIP work. There seems to be this fallacy tgat prices shoujd be very low because all pip claimants are poor or in other benefits.
To lease the id5 pro at 15,000 miles per annum outside Motability is £5,658, plus £251 admin fee, no maintenance, no tyre replacements, no insurance, plus 48 months at £628.69 (figures from select car leasing)
so, as you can see, Motability is a great deal compared to other leasing companies
If they are available in October when I can change my car, I will be looking at the id5, the Ariya and the Enyaq, I have the AP plus options miney in an account, built up over the three years of current car ownership. So, yes, PIP claimants may want these cars and may want to spend that money, as it’s a saving over other leasing companies.
PIP claimants are a broad church, and yes, some can’t afford high APs and can only afford the lower ap cars or need a grant, but that doesn’t mean everyone is in the same position and if they choose to spend their money the way they want to.
