This really annoys me. MB get the car VAT free because they are supplying it to a disabled customer. You have financed it for 3-5 years, but MB will sell it to a dealer who’s going to make a profit for a lot less than they will sell it to you. This seriously needs looking into. Have you tried entering the reg in We Buy Any Car to see what they would pay for it?
