Could anyone offer any advice on recourse here, or whether motability are likely to be supportive? I ordered a kona ev exactly a year ago, this was based on it getting to me in July (I know I shouldn’t have trusted this, but autoexpress also said it was a short wait) I’ll be taking delivery of my car in May, which is fine and I’m happy about this. However, I have in writing by hyundai and 3 separate people, and motability. Confirming my kona will be the updated, 2024 model, which was good, as its got a few more significant saftey features and more space which I needed. I was told this AFTER saying I’d cancel and get an mg4, as my little one developed epilepsy and I needed something slightly safter with a little more storage and faster charging. I only went for the kona because of its range and cooled seats because I have temp control issues. What’s the likelihood motability will let me change to the updated model upon release? As they knew last year I was gonna cancel and go to the mg4 too due to the wait times, and nothing else on the scheme could guarantee at least 200 miles other than these 2. I know its a first world problem. But as he also can’t regulate his temperature, the rear ac, blind spot cameras and 360 cameras are basically a need right now. It’s why I went with the current car I have so I could have it as safe as possible, and I’m currently having a lot of anxiety about kona as the saftey features aren’t personally there for me.
Brent Im a little confused sorry which could be down to me.
After saying you would cancel your Kona order and get an MG4, you were then told the Kona you ordered would be a 2024 model and were told this would be the case by Hyundai and three other people. You also have this in writing from Motability.
You then ask “What’s the likelihood motability will let me change to the updated model upon release, as they knew last year I was gonna cancel and go to the mg4”
Again sorry if Ive got this wrong but, firstly you say you have it in writing from Motability, the Kona would be the new model and then ask what are the chances of Motibilty allowing you to swop the old model for the new model when it comes out?
You could ring/email Mb and say-I know ive got it in writing from you my order is going to be the new model, but, if on collection its the old model, would I beable to take delivery and upgrade to the new model when it comes out.
If they no it may null and void what you have in writing from them now.
Hopefully someone will be along shortly with better advice than me 🙂
