Mike, Both the 707 and A2 share the same panel which is made by LG which is good thing and there both 48″

Having a both having a quick look at the specs on the manufacturers websites and looking at a couple of test ssites. My conclusion is the Phillips 707 would be the better one for you, as summarised below.

The Phillips 707 sits above the LG A2 and is most compared to sitting between LG B2 & C2.

The Phillips 707 has a native refresh rate of 120hz, the LG A2 is a standard 60hz

The Phillips 707 has HDMI 2.1 ports the LG A1 HDMI 2 ports, both support e-arc

The Phillips 707 has total sound output of 70w (4×10 watt mid to high speakers + 30w sub-woofer 2.1 channel)

The LG A2 has a total sound ouput of 20w (2×10 watt 2 channel stereo)

Boths sets cover a wide variety of codecs such as Dolby Atmos, but the Phillips gains Dolby digital.

SD, HD and UHD are equally decent on both the Phillips and LG, but the PHillips is crisper with SD footage

The Phllips 707 is imax advanced and has a brighter peak brightness.

The Phillips 707 has 3 side Ambilight which if I’m honest is fantastic. Ambilight if you not aware has lights at the rear that adjusts to the colours of the TV program your watching, for more of an immersive viewing experience and reduces eye-strain. This can be turned off and there are a few adjustments in the settings.

Both are decent entry sets to OLED but in my opinion the Phillips takes the edge overall. They both would be better as per my guide to an equivulent Qled.

Other than that give Richer sounds a call and ask them to match Currys price 🙂

Hope this helps for now 🙂
