Hi Mike, Ive picked my QQ tekna epower up today and absolutely love it. I’m just wondering though does yours have the chime when reversing? Not the sensor beeps but it’s more like a chime which can be heard outside the car. Is there anyway to turn this off do you or anyone else know? Thanks

my QQ certainly has it just like my mate’s Hyundai ev. it’ s a warning to pedestrians’ , so I doubt that it can be turned off? have you read the manual? war & peace 1225 pages QQ only 500 pages-if you managed say 10 pages a day , then you should finish in time for a spring break – you’ll need it by then? ?

Hi Mike, apologies but can I ask for an update on how are you doing in terms of MPG?

As I wrote elsewhere, and as you will already know, fuel consumption does , of course, not only depend on the type of journey, but on the type of driver an individual is, & it is just like it is with the QQ ePower!

In my case, I satisfied my speed desires, many moons ago, so nowadays I try and keep within the speed limits whenever possible, and this gives me a satisfying glow every time I switch off and see the fuel consumption displayed .

Currently I’ m experimenting with the eco drive setting together with B instead D motion, and using the e pedal and this is giving me between 48 and 53 mpg depending on the length of short journey- normally between 1 mile and 5 miles each way – but i am not trying to squeeze every last drop of fuel to get higher mpg figures, I drive like I was in the Tiguan, and I don’t worry about the outside temperature , or speed in case the battery is used up?

Not sure about how the heater is supplied engine or motor, haven’t got to that page yet, but what
I have found is that it is super efficient in manual rather than automatic usage, and each time I turn it down, consumption improves- I run it at 16* c normally and even that is too hot really.

In any event, 53 mpg using petrol is much better than 53 mpg using diesel as in the Tiguan, by around 24p a litre or £1.09 a gallon!

The Qashqai has a distinct advantage over most hybrids in that it is 100% driven by an electric motor – a very much closer experience of EV driving than a self charging hybrid using an electric motor and and ICE and gearbox eg with the no gears, very smooth, near instant response etc etc.just like an EV, and in my book just this is a good enough reason to have one!

Truthfully ,if anyone is basing their choice simply on mpg or equivalent, then they perhaps should look elsewhere?

I note that full EV drivers have wildly varying results with regard to range Etc. depending on the type of journey Etc., so there will always be differences driver to driver?

If you visit YouTube there are dozens of tests available and also visit QQ forums, you will see varying mpg figures- just like any other car, however what I haven’t come across yet, is’ disappointment’ .

    Regards
