Yep, i think @ChasTw got it right, the AP is wrong.

That said, the entire invoice is somewhat odd – multiple charges under “other”? Here’s ours.

You could log into your motability online account and see what “due” was quoted by the dealership, i think that’s the most important bit.

Tricky one. Personally? I’d likely pay what i owe, and i don’t think the OP is being fully honest here. He knew the AP of the car beforehand (he chose it after all), and then had optional extras added (“extras agreed upon and signed for”).

I don’t think the argument can be made that someone didn’t realise that options cost money.

Knowing the AP of the car you chose, and the optional extras, it is quite obvious that the price doesn’t add up. No way someone doesn’t notice almost a grand missing from the tally.

If they take this to court, it’s likely that you’ll have to pay at least half of the rest of the balance. Fact of the matter is that you knew the price they told you isn’t correct. If you know the car is £3000 and you add £1000 worth of extras, then £2976 on the invoice is clearly incorrect.

    Here’s a similar case.

Don’t think that ignoring the issue will make it go away, that’s very unlikely. You can also ignore the defence that Kezo is suggesting, since you very clearly benefit from the added options (since you added them yourself by agreeing to and signing for them) – otherwise you wouldn’t have ordered them.
