I would contact MB and tell them about the damage.
When I had an accident in my new car, which affected the bonnet, grills and wing. I was asked if it was still driveable and was any bodywork sticking out which would be a danger to others. Which it wasn’t. They said I could either get it repaired or leave it and that it would be noted and not affect my GCB.
As the car was only 2 weeks old, I wanted it fixed, so paid the excess and had it repaired the thought of driving round looking like that for the next, almost 3 years was a no no.
