Mike700 has the Qashqui E-power and is getting 53 – 60+ mpg. I’m looking at both the Qashqui and the X Trail which would be a better size overall. I found the X Trail E-power 2wd was far more economical and on an extended test drive on a mixture of roads I was getting an average of the acclaimed mpg. The E 4orce I had to go to a different dealership to try and test drove on the same type of roads averaged just shy of 38mpg, still better than my Tuscon though.

It does , of course, depend on the type of journey, and the type of driver an individual is, just like it is with any other car.

Individual preferences also come into the equation, as do costs, hence the variety of vehicles on the road today, and long May it continue?

In my case, I ordered a VW ID4 but after a potential 12 months wait ( at the time) and some potential problems with a wall box, I decided to cancel and look at a self Charging hybrid – still more environmentally friendly and better mpg than a 2 ltre diesel , especially with petrol now around 24 p a litre less than diesel.

The Qashqai has the advantage over most hybrids in that it is 100% driven by an electric motor – a much closer experience of EV driving than a self charging hybrid eg no gears, near instant response etc etc.

However if you are basing your choice simply on mpg or equivalent, then you may look elsewhere?

I note that full EV drivers have varying results with regard to range Etc. depending on the type of journey Etc., so there will always be differences driver to driver?

If you visit YouTube there are dozens of tests available and also visit QQ forums, you will see varying mpg figures- just like any other car, however what I haven’t come across yet, is’ disappointment’ .
