Kezo I found a pair of headphones on a long lead in my wardrobe I’ve plugged in my tv sounds good for now will only use when I. On my own
Hi Mike firstly ignore my previous comment – I was eating at the time of writing and no doubt confused myself ?
My next question was going to be how far you sit from the TV and could you use a far cheaper set with good old leads attached with none of the issues at all 🙂
If you watch TV mostly with someone I wouldn’t bother going to the expense. However if your still interested in getting a wireless set later on, you could look at something like/similar the Sennheiser RS175-U (pic below) It comes with its own dedicated receiver that plugs into the wired headphone or RCA jack on the TV and the headphones communicate directly with the receiver (A bit like a dedicated wireless pro microphone will have its own reciever and work on a TX-RX basis). You will not suffer the latency issues you would otherwise.
The other but, more basic route is going the RF route, you would only get basic stereo bur, wouldn’t suffer or worry abbout latebcy issues. It is also possible to connect 2 headphones together. Depending how much your purist, This way may not be the best way to go if/when you upgrade your TV.
I hope this is clearer and is of help 🙂
