Re the Leaf 39kw N-Connecta
WhatCar say:
“The 39kWh battery version has a perfectly respectable 0-62mph time of around eight seconds. Officially the range is 168 miles on a full charge, but in our Real Range testing we managed just 128 miles.”
Unfortunately manufacturers grossly inflate the range available. I wouldn’t be surprised if the WhatCar 128 mile range was in summer with another chunk to come off in winter.
I suppose it all comes down to the driving you do and whether you can home charge. For me, I would want 50kwh as a minimum. I have a DS3 Crossback E-Tense currently – supposed range 200 miles but a truer figure is 160 in summer and as low as 120 in winter on the motorway. Would I consider a car with 11 kwh less – not in a million years. I’m hoping to collect an MG4 Tropy long range next month with a 64 kwh battery so longer trips are more do-able without having to use silly priced public charging and the associated range anxiety.
I appreciate the Leaf 39 kwh has an AP of £199 but the Peugeot E2008 EV is on the scheme with a 50 kwh battery from £0 AP. Unfortunately it doesn’t have heated seats or steering wheel available, even as an option.
