The X-Trail capable of 50-75 miles of pure electric charged from a plug then a further 3-500 miles on e-power would definitely make the competition worry.

The extra weight of a PHEV battery would have an impact on the e-power range on longer journeys so not sure. I like the QQ and XT,. If the XT Tecna trim was on the scheme I’d have ordered it. I will test drive both the next week but the QQ maybe a tad small, plus Tecna trim in the QQ idn’t full (fake) leather which I’d like. The 1.5 3 pot engine has variable compression ratio, at lower speeds it has an higher ration and also at constant speeds if the battery has suffient charge. It’s unique as this is achieved by the movement of an actuator which changes the length of the piston stroke according to the demand for power. I’m sure they could have done the same using a 1.2 3 pot as a generator and lower emissions further, but, the the power and torque would be lower ?

Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
