    The knock on affect Tesla reducing their prices will hopeful other manufacture will have to also reduce their prices.

    Yes, BBC News tonight suggesting that it might spark a price war amongst other manufacturers. Given that leasing companies never pay anything remotely close to retail prices, it remains to be seen whether or not the drops in rrp will result in cheaper leasing costs, but it has to be a move in the right direction.

    Whilst EV’s have had a high take up amongst company car drivers (due to lower tax) and lease drivers, the high retail prices are just one of several barriers for millions of private motorists, and whilst I’m convinced that the 2030/35 dates will have to move, prices of EV’s have got to fall substantially in order to get the adoption levels that are strived for. Range, battery life, cost of battery replacement, charging times, charging infrastructure etc will all improve (hopefully considerably) from where they are now, but it will all be for nowt if people can’t afford them in the first place!
