Not if the article # changes with certain options.
Sure, a dealership can be wrong – but if the result is the same after asking multiple dealerships, then something else is happening.
I’m pretty sure that what’s happening is that by adding (certain) options to a Nissan, the actual “spec” changes. After looking briefly into that, i’m actually certain that i got it right there.
Here’s how it usually works. You look at the MB search for the AP, go to the dealership, pay the “base AP” plus additional extras. That’s not how it works with Nissan.
Take a panoramic sunroof for example. An option that can be added to many cars no problem. If you look in the MB search, for the Qashqai, it’s actually a different spec. If everything was “normal”, you’d order a Qashqai 1.5 E-Power N-Connecta – and that’s all it is. Regardless of options you spec, it stays an N-Connecta.
That’s not what Nissan does though. You can order the Qashqai 1.5 E-Power N-Connecta – or you can order the Qashqai 1.5 E-Power N-Connecta [GLASS ROOF]. These are two different items in the MB list. Same car, one with the optional roof, one without. Same for the Leaf. You get the Leaf, and you get the Leaf with [PROPILOT PACK]. You also can get a Leaf with [TECH PACK].
That makes it safe to assume that internally in Nissans system, the designation for the Leaf changes depending on the options – there’s the standard Leaf, designated “XX”, there’s a PROPILOT Leaf, designated “XY” and a TECH PACK Leaf, designated “YY”.
The OP stated that this happened on two occasions: when trying to spec a QQ with a sound system, and when adding heated seats to an X-Trail.
First: there’s no option to add heated seats to the X-Trail N-Connecta. You need to spec leather seats for it, unavailable in the specs we can order (needs at least Tekna). Second, much like the glass roof, i bet money on the fact that the designator for the QQ changes with the added BOSE PACK, much like it does with the glass roof – but since the BOSE PACK designator isn’t available on MB, they can’t add it.
