I’m not even sure when we order options that Motability even know we have ordered an option for example on my current order I’ve added what VW call IQ Lights for which will cost me £425 out of my pocket. The guff that comes from Motability does not mention the option in the stuff that says how much I have to pay the dealer when I collect the car.
The original invoice the dealer gave me for the car does of course list the options on top of the AP and adaption price so unless that invoice is an exact copy of my invoice they would be none the wiser.
So that where I think the confusion is simply with the dealers sales person on the day and I say this from experience when I ordered a car years ago and I listed the adaption I needed the sales person told me there free of charge. When I got the PIN and contract come through from MB there were no adaptions on the order and as we know adaptions have to be ordered with the car so that little misunderstanding could have cost me a large fortune had I not brought this up with Motability where I was told I do have to pay for them just like the others I’ve had in the past. The sales person could be forgiven for the misinformation as MB themselves are always bloating on about adaption being free when in truth many are not.
So the moral of my story is, treat what dealers say with a pinch of salt. ?
