    keso,

The last DSLR that I bought was a Nikon D810 back in 2014, with several different lens. Great camera but a hefty bit of equipment to lug around.
Funnily enough my first ‘job’ back in the 1960’s when I was still in sixth form was working in a professional studio (evenings and weekends) for a fashion photographer. I got ‘darkroom’ experience, and learnt to use twin lens reflex cameras like Rolleiflex and Hasselblad. I also learnt to use the new single lens reflex 35mm cameras which were then becoming the vogue, and assisted with the lighting for shoots. Sadly my parents intervened when I innocently told them that I’d been developing film from a ‘Spirella’ corsetry shoot (they thought I was too young to be exposed to ladies underwear, lol). That was the end of a budding career in photography, lol.

A few years ago I assisted my daughter in law who was a photographer for a well known fashion company. I did the lighting for her and helped with equipment etc. She worked with top models at some wicked venues and I tagged along doing the more mundane stuff including steaming the models clothes. I’ve done some strange things in my time.?

Rolleiflex & Hassleblad, that’s a blast from the past. My first medium format camera was a used Mamiya 220 TLR, hated it. Eventually got a Bronica ETRSI. As for the Nikon DSLR being too bulky, I’ve got the Canon EOS 250. It’s officially the worlds smallest DSLR, very light and easy to carry. I used to work in a photo lab printing colour and Cibachrome prints, that was 30 odd years ago!
