Anyhow on to something more interesting now the threads finished. Have you ever been to Lowestoft, its much like as you describe with some decaying boats and the decaying wooden infrastructure is just about still there, where the fishermen of bygone days use to repair their nets along with some pebbly beaches. y mums and her family came from there and we would visit every year to see realtives, many now sadly passed. I still like to go back every couple of years or so
Nearest I’ve been to Lowestoft is Sheringham in Norfolk, it was nice, lots of long promenades. It’s ideal for Mrs Joe on her scooter. We usually only go to Cornwall these days, only reason we went to Dungeness was I saw Vic Reeves do a walk along the coast there last year, it looked great (and was) if you go on iPlayer look for walking with Jim Muir (his real name).
