I do like them but being tall often they eat into the head room.
I would say it’s covered by the insurance and pretty much like if any branch was to hit the car and did damage to it you’d have to pay the excess, if it needs repairs and is not covered under the wear and tear polices mb have. Like if it left a small scratch or dent on the bonnet or wing it would be ok but a big dent or scratch down to the metal, it would need to be repaired.
All Windows are covered by insurance so will the PR. If it’s a factory fitted option, it will be covered by insurance, unless it states otherwise. Like anything you leave in a mb is not covered, Yet on my private policy anything up to a certain amount is. So you could look in the insurnce booklet or call and ask them.
Say it wasn’t factory fitted and it was fitted after you’d have to tell them it had a PF of SF or the insurance could be invalidated. So i don’t see why it would not be covered and maybe at a highER premium than a model without a PR or SR.
If it was cracked it would need to be repaired as it could leak or explode and the panoramic sunroof is designed to contribute to the structural integrity of the vehicle but it won’t offer the support of a conventional roof. So that’s a big issue in a crash if it had a crack in it already.
