Plus with many phones you can add a micro sd card to expand the memory and store your photo’s on that. That way if the phones dies then you just remove the sd card and slot it into new phone or transfer to your pc.
All you have to do in most occasions is go into settings of the camera and change where they stored and choose external device over internal.
