I don’t understand why folk take what other’s say literally. I rather think @MickC was being sarcastically joking about inflated AP’s and whats going on in the world, rather than derogatory.
Then it’d be “8k for a Nissan”, not “8k for a Datsun”. The only reason to call a Nissan “Datsun” is the perceived cheapness that it attaches. I said i never understood why “Datsun” is used as a derogatory term (whether or not he meant to be derogatory or funny doesn’t matter at all, it doesn’t change the connotation).
My point being – does it really matter, is it worth all the commotion, abrasiveness eventually leading to WW3. Datsun as known oversea’s came out with some good cars, but like all cars of that era they fell apart. “If it was” his primary feeling so what, just move on ignore it “lifes to short”. Its not as if Skoda hasn’t had its fair share. You never know he may not have driven a “Nissan”, still in the dark ages, but I maintain my thoughts it was more of a sarccastic comment.
I’m not aiming this soley on you @Rene, @wmcforum was in the wrong with his reply, a simple reply would have been “what are you implying by your Datsun comment” or words to that effect. We culd have then probably moved on with our day laughing:-)
