Same problems here. I would go SUV, I had a SEAT Terraco (Sane as Skoda Kodiaq and VW Tiguan Allspace) which was so easy to get in and out of – wide doors all round and electric boot. However, I have a Hyundai Tucson on order which is much the same.
For me I would look at vehicles which make things more comfortable (e,g heated seats, reversing camera as well as those above) plus things that safer like collision assist, lane control, blind spot, self parking.
It is surprising when you have driven a vehicle with those features going back to one without is quite a change.
