Brakes on electric cars should generally have FAR less wear than petrol cars, as regenerative braking uses the motor to physically stop the car & charge the batteries, rather than the brakes actually pressing against the wheels.
Eighteen months for new brakes on an electric car is not right at all, I’d absolutely get it checked ASAP.
