That doesn’t look like condensation to me, i maybe am seeing things but at first glance that’s a very leaky roof. I remember that VWs had a similar issue, the culprit was a blocked drainage channel – did you park under a tree at some point, could there be a leaf or sap blocking a drainage channel? That car immediately needs to go into the workshop, even if it is condensation – there shouldn’t be that much water in there, and you’ll run danger of creating a rat tail of issues further down the line if that doesn’t get rectified.
Windy said Because we run the car so cold to gain distance we are finding all inside screen’s including the moon roof covered in water, it really is quite depressing.
Thats is what happens when you don’t heat the cabin or your house and really one should’nt have to do without heat to get more range. I do agree it needs to go to the dealer to sortout any issues and findout if the battery has any faulty cells also and as I’ve said before more should be said about the ranges in cold conditions not just the best range in summer.
There could well be a leak from the roof, but water is most likely to condense on glass and form droplets on a horizontal surface like the sun roof, but it would’nt explain the wetness elsewhere and the main issue I think stems from not heating the car up, especially if you keep the windows closed and have little ventilation.
Human’s create moisture as does the external enviroment more so on a wet day and not using heating will cause issues like windy is seeing and many of us just don’t see them as we heat the car.
1st thing in the morning when I get in the car on a cold morning doing the school run, is to open my drivers window a little, to let our hot breath escape or the window’s steam up more and more.
In the golf I had, it only used to start blowing real hot air when I turned back into our street to return home and we did have some issues with condensation build up, It got cured when we went on alonger journey. my last 2 cars have alot better heaters and are warm half way to the school and I don’t have issues.
