Totally suxx, if you was to cancel now and re-order something else, one things pretty clear ap’s have risen alot in a year and you’d be paying more now, than back then in most cases. Question is though how long do you stick with it for?
Do you currently have a scheme car or is this your 1st?
Many seem to be finding themselves in this position and there’s a multitude of reason’s as to why.
Some on this forum don’t like to hear the issues people are having with the scheme right now and how the long waits are effecting people.
I do feel that MB order’s are at the back of the queue as what do the dealers really make on the cars compared to selling it retail right now? and not much can be done about it.
Some dealers appear worse than others and I’ve not dealt with a few in the past and gone with dealers who been honest and make you feel welcome.
In your case I guess you’ve had the order details via mb, but does that actually mean a factory order has been placed by the dealer?
Personally I left the scheme back in june after 11 happy years on it and got my brand new car in 4 weeks and they said it would be 4 weeks and it was. Same car on the scheme would of been at least a 6 month wait and keeping the car we had for 6 months wasn’t going to work for us.
I didn’t get the car locally and I dropped of the scheme car to them when i picked up the car.
You can get a car also from any dealer that will let one go sooner on the scheme, but it’s not as easy to find them as it once was. Might be worth calling a few up, it depends what the ap’s are now and thats the other issue and why many are waiting it out, they’ve risen quite alot.
Cannot imagine waiting over a year then still being in the same position. We just couldn’t take that gamble. Things have changed since then also, the interest rates have risen. So new options off the scheme have risen. Used car price’s also have risen especially ulez compliant one’s.
For some it seems the scheme just isn’t delivering and the choices are pretty limited as well, as are the rising and rising ap’s to lease a car and yes dealers action’s ain’t Mbo’s fault but they are agents for and on the behalf of mbo, who don’t seem to care and will probally suggest to order another car, from another dealer at the higher ap now than you originally did and it’s all because of this crisis or that.
Some have had there order’s envn cancelled by dealers or the car model is no longer being made due to the long waits and/or specs have changed or trim level names changed and you must then reorder and pay the new ap. In one very recent post the ap was at least 4 times higher now than when they originally ordered.
It could even be 2 years or longer, before a car arrives for some like yourself, let down and let down again, whats to say it don’t happen a 3rd time or 4th time. If you was to place another order. Which is shocking really, but something i can see happening.
Some will say it’s because of chips, or Ukraine etc etc, the reality for many though it’s not feasible to wait so long and then be let down and the reasons given are being used as an excuse.
If you do currently have a scheme car that is suitable, then it’s less of a problem but if you don’t. I really do feel for you right now and the stresses it must be putting people under and at the end of the day that what really matters and is the aim of the scheme but for many right now it’s not delivering for them.
It’s getting more and more common on this forum stories of promises and then new dates given that come and go and still no car.
