@AzzaL14 I only did empty-to-full fills the first few times (in the hope that the on board mpg calculation was wrong) and I can’t remember the costs, including the cost at the pump. But all that really matters is the mpg.

For some reason I thought the XTrail’s AP was higher than it is. If the X-Trail has all the features you need, then I can see why it’s a tough decision. The WLTP combined figure is the same as the HEV Sportage’s, so I’d estimate that for mostly urban, short distances, it would be 30% better mpg. Your commute is mostly motorway, so the difference in mpg may not be so great, but of course, if the motorway isn’t free flowing then the HEV X-Trail will be much better than the MHEV Kia.

If the choice was between an HEV Sportage 4/GTLS and a HEV Xtrail N-Connecta(both being immediately available), I’d choose the Sportage. But MHEV Sportage vs HEV Xtrail is a tough choice. If YOU like the XTrail (or Qashqai) as much as the Sportage, then you’re probably better off with one of the Nissans.

Being in London, I’d prefer not to have a wide vehicle. I thought the X-Trail (1840mm) would be the widest, but it’s actually the Sportage (1865mm). Qashqai (1835). I love the interior of the Sportage, but to me, it doesn’t feel any roomier than my previous Golf.
