Nope, we had our DNO unloop us prior to installation, most firms insisted on that, but that was before load monitoring became common. The DNO were very good about it, just needed chasing to set the date. They fitted a new 100A incoming fuse.
We were happy to be unlooped in any case as it means no worrying about throttling on the charger – unlikely I know, but it was free, so why not – especially as you may end up with a heat pump too at some point in the future.
