Wow 4 days before and after almost a years wait. Thing is, right now this sort of thing is not uncommon. Sometimes it’s the car comes without stuff, but the ap is the same or the the orders cancelled as the cars no longer being made.
One thing also, you do not have to pay any AP upfront unless your ordering extras, then you maybe required to pay for those upfront. Never once have I been asked or had to pay an ap upfront.
As others have said you need to call MBO and explain the situation and see what they say.
Me personally I think it’s could be all a lie as the ultimate is still listed on the MB search. If you ordered and the price rise’s Mb honor it, unless the specs change in that case the codes would of changed also.
What they offering you is a different spec to what you ordered at an increased price and that is something only MBO can sortout and advise you on.
Personally like most of us there is no way I would pay any more than the original price that you have budgeted for, especially if it’s a lesser spec’d car.
This seems part and parcel of waiting so long for car’s and is a big problem within the scheme right now. Many have just had their order’s cancelled and the fact that AP’S have risen alot in the last year mean’s when you have to reorder something it’s either alot higher than before or been removed from the scheme and you cannot reorder one.
In your case if it was an ulitmate you was to reorder at another dealer, it’s almost quadrupled in price now. So to order another car may cost you alot more either way and MBO are getting of the hook also for those increases, as are the manufacturers. As the cost of some cars have risen in the last few years some by 26%, as has the cost of making them and again is the problem with long waits.
If you was a private buyer you would have alot more protection than MBO offer us, when things like this go wrong.
The long wait’s was one reason I decided to leave the scheme back when I did as I only had to wait four weeks for the car and there was no way we could wait a year and be stuck with a car that became unsuitable.
Totally feel for you richard, please lets us know how you get on with Mb
