I don’t feel captive to be on the Motability Scheme if anything I feel blessed. I have a vehicle that perfectly fits the needs of my family. As you have outlined there are so many issues to being disabled and caring. I am happy that the family vehicle is not adding to these pressures and worries.

That’s perfectly fine for you to feel that way, but I feel they could be doing and offering so much more.

It’s ok while it’s ok, but what when it’s not. One size doesn’t fit all and yes there are a multitude of conditions and reasons for and against the model Mb currently operate via MBO.

Each person has to decide what works for them and no one else knows what is right for others and their situation. Ultimately they have to decide and it would be easier if more options was available and we had more choices and say in what we want and the direction Mb and mbo take.

The push towards ev’s is making that even more evident and what will those whom an ev just won’t work especially if they have no off street parking or have issues pluging in the charger.

Many will be forced to adopt an ev to remain on the scheme, once Ice cars can no longer be sold. On the flip side it’s still ok to have a new car every 3 years and the footprint that makes on the planet. To me logically that makes no sense at all and Imo MB and the government should be telling us to keep the cars we have that are better than ever in everyway for longer than we are.

But thats my view and if you want to get a new car every 3 years you should be allowed to as you should be able to choose an ice car or not and have choices if an ev doens’t work for you.

I am not anti scheme it works for many but it seems the crisis’s we seeing and the effect the push to ev’s are having on the scheme is clear and the current model of a new car, might not be sustainable as it is now.
