@Nigel – Sadly, the Kona comes from Korea so there is a long transport time (apparently some of the other models are made in the Czech Republic so less time to get here).
Update on my order debacle …
My email sent on Tuesday evening to the Regional Managers/Directors of Hyundai, the dealer and Motability resulted in an acknowledgment the following day and a telephone call on Thursday confirming that, as soon as I could come into the dealership to complete some additional paperwork, Motability would be able sort out the back end ensuring that I qualify for the car as if it had been correctly ordered back in April (deposit and ‘Jungle Green’ included). I was working yesterday but went into the dealers this morning and am now the proud owner of an order from Hyundai and confirmation from Motability that they are in receipt of an order for a Bayon (you can’t order a Kona anymore) which I have been assured will be corrected on Monday on the orders of the Regional Director of Motability 🙂
I am very grateful to this forum for all the support you’ve given me and to Helen Dewdney (aka The Complaining Cow), the author of How to Complain: The Essential Consumer Guide to Getting Refunds, Redress and Results. Helen contacted me on receipt of my order to check that my area of concern would be covered by her book and offered additional support if I was unable to achieve resolution as she recognised that the car industry was notoriously difficult to tackle!!
I’m beyond excited now but in the meantime, I’ll have to satisfy my enthusiasm with this …
