If they scrapped the second stage of the stupid HS2 it would save them £50 billion, the HS2 is designed to knock 20 or so minute of your train journey time?
HS2 is a white elephant, but the fact they’ll go ahead with the line to Birmingham and possibly scrap the line to Manchester and Leeds will cause a lot of problems for them, levelling up, red wall etc.
