My husband (who used to be on the scheme before he was PIPed) and I have had MB cars since the 1990s so have had many colours. The lighter colours are easier to keep clean. Darker colours show any imperfections more. Also, black cars appear smaller than the same car in white. We try to avoid the drab/grey colours but sometimes have no choice. We do like to have something different. Bright colours seem to be rare, and this is what we like. My first car was purple, albeit dark. My new is Zesty Yellow; some call it green some yellow, it tends to depend on the lighting conditions. looks similar to Mr Bean’s Mini which is Citron Green. When I got my order in at the start of February this colour was only available on the Convertible, so we were going to get British Racing Green IV with white roof and mirrors. I commented on the colour of the convertible saying I would love mine in that colour. The dealer made a call and told us that, that colour was going to be available from March. One advantage of the long lead times, I was able to order in this colour even though it was not in the catalogue.
