Very comprehensive thread here. Just wanted to add my experience for people understandably unable to trawl through the hundreds of posts! Sorry about the length of this in advance.
Ordered Kona Premium 64kwh Cyber Grey on December 31st 2021. Just before the price increase. Paid £500.
Car was delivered 5 months later on 21st June 2022.
Unfortunately car was stolen a few weeks back (nobody hurt, keys were taken in burglary) but as traumatic as the experience was, it was also just as traumatic finding out the Kona is no longer on the scheme? Anybody here with any slight knowledge/insight on whether of it may be reintroduced with the new price list on October 1st?
Anyway a few tidbits on my brief experience. I covered 3000 miles for the 3 months. My average for the whole period was exactly 5.0 per kWh (325-350 mile range). I drive on regen mode 1. The weather was very warm during this period so the consumption is slightly flattering, but i feel like the near constant AC for 2 whole weeks kind off balanced that out somewhat.
Very fortunate that where I live in Stratford, there are alot of free chargers around. Ikea, Tesco, BP Pulse… Have only had to pay to charge a handful of times, no more than £50.
5.5-6.5 per kWh – Town driving, lots of traffic lights, occasional congestion.
4.5 per kWh – Dual Carriageway/Motorway driving at 60mph.
4.0 per kWh – Dual Carriageway/Motorway driving at 70mph.
3.5-4.5 per kWh – Town driving with AC up high, driver and passenger.
3.0 per kWh – Dual Carriageway/Motorway driving at 60mph with AC up high, driver and passenger.
Great sound system. Deep and clear. If just me in the car, radio rarely gets turned above 5. Very loud.
Beautiful, responsive infotainment system and interface. Joy to use. So many settings, but still easy to use.
Heated seats heat up almost instantly.
iPhone plus fits into the phone section with cable connected and still has space for the compartment to close.
Issues – wireless charger takes a lifetime, heating takes a lifetime (cold air for first 5 minutes), hard plastics inside let down the experience and sleek interior just a little, sometimes the crash detection is overzealous and has broken for me when in no danger. Slightly disconcerting feeling but luckily only happened about once a month.
