@kezo I think it’s a sad day when people lose faith in the system. To stay with the Tories just because the other guys are just as bad would leave us with a constant Tory government. That, obviously, is not a good idea. So on that basis “a change is as good as a rest”. Labour is the obvious alternative but a coalition between Labour and liberal would be the best option. Introducing the SNP into the pact would not be an alternative, in my mind,. As I believe the Tories don’t have a mandate to run Scottish affairs, it would be wrong for the SNP to run English affairs.
The Tory leadership race is a race to the right with each candidate trying to out do each other to impress the Tory members. It could also appear to the candidates that those who voted for Tories the last time prefer a right wing leader, although I’m not sure they got that with BJ.
