We are in a reasonable position we own our own 5 year old very energy efficient detached 2 bedroom bungalow, we recently fitted 4.4 kWh south facing solar panels and intend in October to add a solar energy battery storage, we are Octopus Go so can force charge the batteries off peak in the winter to reduce our cost. As our Motability vehicle is a Outlander PHEV most of our journeys are local we can run on off peak electricity.
Fortunately I am entitled to my old age pension this month, however in the next few months all this will be swallowed up.
I do really feel for those who are in a less favourable position, especially as been reported the majority of the MP’s (and no doubt the House of Lords) are claiming their energy bills on expenses.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
