I think it’s important that the facts are put to the people so they know what they are voting for. The “divorce” bill will be massive but remember a large portion of this we would be paying for even if we stay in the U.K. .We don’t get a free ride if we stay in the Union, we will be paying off the massive debt, much of which we had no say in accumulating, for decades.
England could of course try to punish Scotland, similar to what the EU is doing just now to the U.K. but there is no winner in this situation as we trade £billions between our countries so both would be damaged.
The way I see any “divorce” payments being met is over decades like a tax. Just a pity there’s no chance of Westminster returning the £billions gathered in tax from the North Sea oil revenues.
Wigwam there will be a vote, one way or the other. Nicola Sturgeon has made it clear that at the next election if you vote SNP you are voting for independence. So if Westminster don’t “allow” a vote, it will still happen.
