Having driven the FHEV, i don’t think you’re missing out too much.
We managed low 40s, less than with our current 1.5 TSI, driven conservatively. I’m not sure that you could recuperate the increase in AP through savings in petrol, it just isn’t that frugal.
If we had gone for a Sportage, it’d been either the MHEV or the PHEV, FHEVs just don’t do it for us. Not sure if we’re just doing something wrong, but i’ve yet to see a FHEV that impresses us in terms of economy.
