I’m currently waiting for a 7kw wall charger to be fitted and was wondering in 3 years time if I didn’t renew with a electric car would the charger be removed?
Hi, I’m considering an electric vehicle and have spoken to Motability regarding wall chargers.
Motability will only pay for one installation of a charger per customer, and once it is installed it becomes yours. Any problems with it that occur after the initial installation will be yours to pay for.
After your EV lease ends, if you choose to go back to ICE then the charger will remain there and you can do with it what you wish, but Motability will not pay for another charger if you go back to electric at a later date.
If you move house at any point after, the installation costs for a new charger will be yours alone and Motability will not pay for another charger.
You also don’t have to have a charger installed once you order or collect an EV.
