What I did in the current climate is to first extend the current car then as soon as that’s been agreed by Motability put in an order for a second choice car, in your case the KIA Sportage none HEV.
Similar here but extended then ordered a VW Tiguan R-Line and this car was my second choice over the Tiguan Elegance however its turning out to be a good choice because the first choice model has not returned and unlikely too this year or next and means while things are going from bad to worst I’ve still got my second choice order in and will be more than over the moon with it when it eventually turns up and of course should things get better I can always cancel the car and start again. Hedging your bets I think is what they call it. ?
If you get an order in for one of the other KIA Sportage’s it might not be what you want but its better and near as damn it as having your first choice in an ever decreasing choice with the clock ticking on your extension as already I’ve eaten into 7 months of my extension.
