    actually i think manufacturers and dealers in particular are very poor in their contact with customers or even potential customers.

    the manufacturers seem determined to either playdown the delays or at best try not to publicise them and in a way con the customer with the dealers help by underplaying the delays in order to get the order and then string the customer along until the are forced to admit the true extent of the delays.

    knowing full well that by the time the customer realises the 6 month wait is actually over 12 months they wont cancel as they will then go to the back of another lying manufacturers list.

    both even in normal times are very poor at maintaining contact with a customer over their order, any shopping i do online i get an email when the order is placed, one when its picked,one when its ready for the courier, one when its picked up by the courier, one when the courier is on his way and even one after its been delivered. information overload in many ways. but with car dealers etc your lucky if you get an order aknowlegement after youve signed on the dotted, after that the next contact you probaly get is to collect the car.

    big difference.
