If it’s the same ceo, not so long ago he was saying that vw was going to put everything on cars when they was made, like adative lights, but then block them if you do not want to pay, that way the next owners can unblock those options and they, vw make more money for longer.
My last car was a vw and even andriod auto was blocked and had to pay to unlock it as did voice activation on my honda it’s included, everything on it works unlike on the golf.
Would i get another that all depends on what the options are at the time, but i won’t pay for added extras everything i’ve had on the scheme came at the ap i paid.
Car makers are imo in two categories now those like kia, honda seat etc who offer trim levels and no extras can really be added or vw or merc and bmw where lots of things are added extras or are part of packs like adaptive cruise control.
