That bad petrol engine gets me 45-48mpg on long runs, not too far off the mpg of the lighter 2 litre BMW X1 we had before the T5, Rene. Do give it up.
I took a leaf out of your book Wigwam when we took our X1 on holiday last week. I set cruise control at a sedate 60mph and achieved 51.4mpg which, with the large fuel tank, was a range of 650 miles. Best of all, I didn’t have to plug it in once during the holiday ? ?
