    The thing is, I would not currently buy a secondhand EV,  its a bit too new & most dealers (inc. service depts) don’t have a clue. Every mid to major fault tends to cost an arm or a leg and the range on 3yr+ old cars is woeful with a chunk of battery degradation on what was probably only around 100 summer miles to start with.

    There are some horror stories around on Speak EV regarding repair costs or extreme delays on fixing warranted cars – a new battery or BMS can run into  thousands of £’s, certainly more than comparable ICE car repairs & I’ve had my fair share of £1500 bills for knackered turbos/intercoolers/injectors/dual mass flywheels/DPF’S on those over the years. Doing higher than average miles over the years saw me face all of these issues along with steep depreciation. At least I am no longer doing 30k plus miles per annum!

    Once I retire the cost/benefit calculation will swing dramatically the other way.
