In total Russia supplies approximately 5% of our fuel in the UK. We are much better placed than other countries such as Germany who import over 40% of their fuel from Russia.
However that will not protect us from rapidly rising prices for all our goods and services because of our high level of imports generally. Putin’s recent actions have ensured that we will all be poorer in the short to medium term. It’s a worry, but I’m more worried about the human cost and suffering in Ukraine at the moment.
