@Glos Guy, Thanks for the tip regarding the Park assist, I know which button you mean. Do I need to ‘tick’ the box on the display menu to activate it? I have flicked through the user manual but thought that was the button to switch the parking sensors on and off? I’m easily confused ha ha!
You’re welcome Rachel. In order to activate Park Assist you just press the button at low speed before you pass the parking space. It will start measuring parking spaces on the passenger side, unless you put the right indicator on, in which case it will measure spaces on the drivers side. Then just follow the instructions on the iDrive screen. I don’t think you have to enable it, as such, via iDrive, but let me know if you get stuck and I’ll have a look on mine.
By the way, not everyone realises that Park Assist can get you out of parking spaces, as well as in to them. Again, just indicate the direction you are pulling out and press the button. It does all the automation stuff but in reverse. All clever stuff, especially if you get wedged in by an inconsiderate driver.
