Coming to think of it, one solution to the “EV problem” could be the electric equivalent to a restrictor.
EVs have variable power outputs, all it’d take is a device by the insurance company restricting the voltage/power to whatever they deem insurable.
It’s considerably easier to decrease the power in an electric motor than it is with a petrol engine. In terms of modification, that would be rather easy. Maybe that’s an option.
